VSIP PLANS INDUSTRIAL TOWNSHIP IN BINH DINH
Binh Dinh authorities have presented a 1,000ha area in Canh Vinh District, a 1,378ha area in Quy Nhon City and an 800ha area in Tuy Phuoc District for the investors to consider for the project construction.
During a recent visit to Singapore by the provincial People's Committee Chairman Ho Quoc Dung to attract investments to the province, CEO of Sembcorp's Urban Development business Kelvin Teo – who is also Co-President of the VSIP Joint Venture – expressed support for the establishment of the integrated township and industrial park in Binh Dinh.
However, careful study was still needed, he said.
The Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) was established in 1996 on the basis of co-operation and support by the governments of Viet Nam and Singapore.
The project is expected be built under the VSIP model, which was remodeled from a traditional industrial park to an integrated township and industrial park, bringing in new urban solutions such as international master planning and sustainable infrastructure, and attracting foreign investors with higher value-added manufacturing capability.
To date, the VSIP has attracted nearly 500 businesses with US$6.4 billion of investments and US$8 billion in export product value, while creating more than 140,000 jobs for the Vietnamese people.
VSIP, comprising many leading groups such as Sembcorp Industries, Ascendas, United Overseas Land and KMP Group, besides Mitsubishi Corporation, has developed five such projects in Binh Duong, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong and Quang Ngai.
Becamex IDC was established in 1976. Over 39 years of construction and development, Becamex IDC has become a prestigious brand name in the field of investment and development of industrial, residential, urban and transportation infrastructure.
